2024 Aba International Trade Fair to hold Nov 28 to Dec 7 — Committee
Inem said while the first firm will plan and drive all operational activities of the fair, the second will handle its marketing communications.
The Aba International Trade Fair Planning Committee says the 2024 edition of the Aba International Trade Fair will hold from Nov. 28 to Dec. 7, 2024.
The date was communicated by the Chairman, 2024 Aba International Trade Fair Planning Committee, Chief Nwaka Inem, at a press conference in Aba on Wednesday.
“After considerations including dates of other international trade fairs, we announce that the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair will hold between Nov. 28 and Dec. 7.
“The timing of this year’s auspicious fair is to set the tone for the 2024 Christmas shopping activities and give participants and business owners ample time to prepare for what promises to be a lifetime event,” he said.
Inem told newsmen at the event held at ACCIMA headquarters in Aba that the fair was packaged by two notable Trade Fair organising consulting companies to create a world-class fair.
He named the companies as Global Fairs and Exhibitions Co. Ltd. and Vivimark Communications Limited.
Inem said while the first firm will plan and drive all operational activities of the fair, the second will handle its marketing communications.
He said that the Abia government was collaborating with the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ACCIMA) at this fair to give “the world a significantly different fair” to remember.
“This is to broaden the scope, reach, and impact of the trade fair for the Aba business ecosystem.
“And to also send a signal to the world that the glory of this great city as the pivotal business destination in Nigeria and across West Africa is returning,” he said.
He said the expectation of Abia people on the 2024 fair activities and outing is that it would determine what to expect of the fair in the future.
Inem, who is a Special Assistant to the Governor on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, said, “Of a truth, Aba’s time to shine on the global plane has come.”.
The Committee Chairman said that Gov. Alex Otti had, on June 21, inaugurated the planning committee through his Chief of Staff, Mr. Caleb Ajagba.
He said the 21-man committee drawn from the chamber and senior government officials had since been planning the 2024 edition of the fair to ensure a more glorious outcome.
He said that the committee had secured an agreement with relevant stakeholders to use the Aba Mega Mall to ensure better accommodation and security.
Inem said the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair would be a strategic showpiece to announce Aba’s arrival as the economic powerhouse and major regional business hub.
He promised that the team would be interfacing with the media to give needed updates regularly.
The ACCIMA President, Mr. Geoffrey Uzoagbara, said that the 2024 Fair would be different in content, focus, and development and would also be memorable.
“On the part of the chamber, we will do everything in our power to ensure the trade fair is successful,” she said.
The Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Kingsley Nwokocha, urged the media to give the fair a sound publication to make it successful.
He said that Abia was returning to its former glory through the efforts of Gov. Alex Otti and asked for the cooperation of all.
Other key functionaries of government present at the event were Mr. Green Amankwe and Mr. Dodo Okafor, Special Assistant and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Investment and Public Communication, respectively.
