NANS lauds Buhari for declaring bandits as terrorists

Adegboye stated that the president had done well in flushing out criminals ravaging the country’s North-West zone, adding the government had already taken steps in the right direction.

National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his efforts at tackling insecurity in the country.

Southwest Coordinator of NANS, Mr Emmanuel Adegboye, gave the commendation in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Thursday.

Adegboye stated that the president had done well in flushing out criminals ravaging the country's North-West zone, adding the government had already taken steps in the right direction.

According to him, it is cheering news that the Federal Government has declared bandit groups as terrorist organisations, stressing that NANS is in support of the development.

While calling on government not to handle terrorism and banditry with levity in order to further earn citizens' confidence.

Adegboye also stressed the need for government to continue to provide adequate support for all security agencies in their efforts at tackling insecurity across the country.

"This should be consolidated with a pro-masses and judicial justice system that will not only try to capture terrorists but ensure that capital punishments are meted out to them.
