Port Harcourt went agog as Family and Friends honour Late Fubara
"I speak for the sake of what you believe in as a jolly good fellow and paddyman of all to tell the world indeed you live on".
A funeral and candle light service was held on October 9, 2021 in honour of late Prince Fubara Walter Pollyn at the Grace Place Event Centre, Gra Port Harcourt. The event attracted over 50 Bishops, High profile clergy men, friends, family members, well wishers and business associates of the late Prince. The wife of the late Prince, an erudite academic, Dr. Uche Ogbonda expressed deep emotions through her heart-breaking tribute to eulogise the late charming Prince. Her tribute reads:
Tribute from wife to Husband
I speak not because I want to but I speak because I have to……[as your wife and mother to your son]
I speak not because I have to but because death has defeated me,
I speak not because death defeated me but because Fubara my husband allowed the enemies of life cut his life short.
I speak because in death if it were as spoken biblically our children and grandchildren and in likely cases great grandchildren would have been here doing this epistle.
I speak here and now to speak loud how much nice it was at the beginning in the moment in time until man inhumanity to man set in.
I speak because I know even in your resting place my husband you know that we [your son and I] will keep your flag flying high.
I speak because the world will continue to hear of your name and yes, you would have been buried beneath the brown and cold earth, I speak because your spirit lives on in me and that of your son.
I speak for the sake of what you believe in as a jolly good fellow and paddyman of all to tell the world indeed you live on.
I speak because I want and have to show to the world indeed your posterity and footprint reminds us that you live on.
I speak because my husband and the father of my son you remain alive in our hearts for those that truly loved and continue to love you genuinely even in death.
I bury you officially today to death, I bury you officially because you are a man to be buried appropriately and not a man to be thrown into the gutters. I lay you to rest but not for your spirit to rest but ask that your spirit work against those that brought you to your untimely death.
Let the candles that shine and burn today bring vengeance upon perpetrators of your untimely death.
I speak because I am vexed that you had to go like this.
I speak because you were a source of happiness to many.
I speak because I wanted an opportunity to say Adieu and to tell the world that your footprint lives on…...
Rest in peace but remain vengeful to those that snatched your life when you are supposed to be living it.........................it is well
The son, Jethro Tamunotonye Pollyn also took time to prepare his tribute which tagged: "From Son to Father and Best Friend". Supreme will bring you this and more in subsequent publications. Watchout..........
