Ama-Davids Nigeria Limited, a real estate development firm says it has taken steps with its partners to work closely with the Nasarawa State Government to develop a Commercial city in Karshi.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Ama-Davids, Mr Ibrahim Arasah, said during a series of courtesy visits to selected top government functionaries in the state.

Arasah said that the commercial city project would create job opportunities, attract foreign investment, create an atmosphere for business in the state, and improve the well-being of the people.

“We believe in the great works by the Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule in infrastructural development, political stability, and security.

“Ama Davis Nigeria Limited is very much interested in the well-being of our people and therefore, our projects are people-centric.

“Our projects, starting from the Karshi Central Market, which proposal is before the governor as well as the automobile city project have been well thought out and carefully planned and they are people-centric too.

“All of our projects are designed to improve the well-being of our people and to ensure that they outlive us

“The Commercial City Standard Market will be the first of its kind in Africa because it has never been seen anywhere around Africa.

“It will be a fusion of markets and a vast business hub that will include an agro-market, fashion and textile, furniture showroom, media, and a lot of other enterprises.

“We have been on the ground for upward of 32 years.

“As knowledge is increasing and technology is expanding, we are also increasing our knowledge base and development to fit into the global stage and the 21st century needs of our people,” he said.

Dr Victor Abidoye, Chairman/CEO of Vikolu Universal Concept Limited, one of the funders of the project remarked that with schemes such as the commercial city project, there would be limitless opportunities for Nigeria in particular, and Africa in general.

This, according to him, is because young people have the opportunity to overcome poverty.

He added that such projects could close the housing deficits in the country.

He urged the government to make the project reality so that the entrepreneurs in the state would have a place to operate

“A new urban center is what we are coming up with and we envisage that the state government will give us the support we need,” he added.

Responding, Mr Abdullahi Salihu-Ari, the Vice President of Strategy and Innovation, Nassarawa Investment and Development Agency (NASIDA), applauded the partners for their efforts and for believing in the potentials of the state.

“We are not unmindful of the fact that there are 36 states in the country and those projects could not have gone to other places,” he said.

Senior Analyst at the agency, Mr Imam Rabiu, said NASIDA was doing its best possible to ensure that the project becomes a reality.

Supreme news reports that Ama Davids Nigeria Ltd. is the proponent of the Karshi Central Market/Commercial City, the Automobile City, Million House Project, and the Karshi Century Park.
