ICT Expert Canvasses Involvement of Indigenous Scientists in Nigeria Industries

An Information Communication Technology (ICT) expert, Mr Richard Oluwole, has advocated the need for involvement of indigenous Scientists in the operation of Nigeria industries instead of relying on foreign Scientists.

Oluwole made the call in Ilorin on Friday in an interview with the Newsmen.

The (CEO), Richy.Info.Tech.Ilorin, said Nigeria scientists were capable of handling the technological and technical aspects of local jobs, instead of employing foreign experts.

“We have capable scientists in the country. We must stop denying our own Nigeria bred experts opportunities to show their skills.

“Enough of wasting money on foreign experts when we can save cost to try our own brain. They have what it takes to operate any machine or solve any technical problem.

“Government must stop doubting Nigeria scientists and give them chance. Nigeria scientists can compete with the so-called foreign experts,’’ he said.

The ICT expert, however, called on government at all levels to believe in what they had and provide a friendly working environment with working tools for Nigeria scientists.

He also advised government to stop frustrating Nigeria scientists and appreciate their brain by employing them.

“We have enough computer engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, capable medical experts in the country.

“Why underrate and discriminate against them? Give them chance and stop pushing them away.

“The more we deny them opportunities, the more they try hard to travel abroad for opportunities.

“We are the real causes of many of them traveling abroad for greener pasture and survival,’’ he said.
