Wife seeks divorce after 2 kids over husband’s alleged stubbornness
The petitioner told the court that her husband did not like to listen to her opinions before taking decisions, saying that whereas, she had been submissive and loyal to him.
A mother of two, Adeshola Afolabi, on Wednesday, filed for divorce at an Area Court, Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, accusing her husband, AbdulRazak Ibrahim, of exhibiting stubborn attitude.
The petitioner told the court that her husband did not like to listen to her opinions before taking decisions, saying that whereas, she had been submissive and loyal to him.
“I had left his house since five years ago and he has married another wife and moved on with his life.
“I only want the court to officially separate us and grant me the custody of my two daughters,” she said.
The Presiding Judge, Hammad Ajumobi, however, advised the petitioner to focus on her marriage and stop listening to rumours and bad advice.
Ajumobi also told her to allow settlement whenever the respondent approached her, in the interest of the children’s future.
He, thereafter, adjourned the case till Dec. 27 for report of settlement or hearing.
