GOtv Boxing Night 29: Tito beats Agwu, wins title

An elated Tito said she was aiming for a technical knockout but after the slight dislocation she had to reorganise her thoughts and game plan.

Bolatito “Tito” Oluwole, at the just concluded GOtv Boxing Night 29, beat Celina Agwu to claim the National Cruiserweight Championship following an eight-round unanimous decision.

The event held at the Molade Okoya – Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Sunday and had many boxing fans cheering her to victory as she courageously pummeled her opponent.

Tito, as she is fondly called by fans, had begun the bout on a good nite, delivering some hard punches, to garner some valuable points at the beginning of the fight.

She would suffer a slight setback when dislocated her right arm in the third round, but she got back after ringside doctor cleared her to continue and never looked back in beating her oopnent.

“I’m happy for the victory, I am long overdue for this, I look forward to many bouts and hopefully to compete for the World Boxing Federation(WBF) Cruiserweight title one day.

“I want to thank my family for their support and especially GOtv and Flykite for giving me the plartform to showcase my talents,” Tito said.

Tito would go on to win the Mojisola Ogunsanya Best Boxer of the Night Award which goes for a N1 million purse.

In other fights recorded in the event, Sifan “Best” Iwatt beat Yusuf “Omowest” Mohammed in a split decision, to emerge the National Super Fly Weight Champion.

Sodiq “Happy Boy” Adeleke beat Ibrahim “Golden Boy” Opeyemi in a unanimous decision in their National Bantamweights Challenge.

Tunde “Turning Star” Olojede edged pass Arabambi “Power” Ojo by way of unanimous decision in their National Bantamweight Challenge.

Taiwo Olowu beat Ganiyu “Energy” Kolawole by unanimous decision in their National Welterweight challenge.

In the National Light Weight Challenge, Azeez “Latest” Ayobami made mince of his opponent, Lucky Oyibu by crushing him at the first round of the eight-round duel
