2023 Poll: Group calls for youths' inclusiveness in governance
According to Dr. Nicolas Felix, youths’ inclusiveness is all that matters, and if youths are given the chance to be governors, ministers, heads of agencies, and lawmakers, among others, it will turn the ride around.
A political group, Young Presidential Candidates Across Party Lines, has sought youths' active engagement and inclusion in governance come 2023.
Dr. Nicolas Felix, the leader and spokesperson of the group, made the call on Wednesday, during the group's meeting in Abuja.
"Another political dispensation is in the offing, and our goal is to see that young, vibrant, and visionary Nigerians make up a huge percentage of the incoming government.
"It is 87 days until the conduct of the 2023 presidential election, an election that many of us here had hoped to contest," Felix said.
He, however, said the group was not formed to rebel against the current administration or to spite it, but it was created to support the government and facilitate good governance.
"So to our political leaders, all we are saying is to get the youths involved, not just during elections but after the polls."
According to him, youths' inclusiveness is all that matters, and if youths are given the chance to be governors, ministers, heads of agencies, and lawmakers, among others, it will turn the ride around.
Felix therefore charged youths to play their part by contributing to and supporting nation-building.
