ADITOP reiterates commitment to petrol price reduction
Asuquo said that the association’s emergence was to provide cheaper and affordable distribution and transportation alternatives in the oil and gas sector.
The Association of Distributors and Transporters of Petroleum Products (ADITOP), says it is working tirelessly to to bring down the price of petroleum products across the country.
Dr Nya Asuquo, the South-South Board of Trustee (BoT) Chairman, made the statement at a press conference in Calabar on Monday.
Asuquo said that the association’s emergence was to provide cheaper and affordable distribution and transportation alternatives in the oil and gas sector.
“Our aim is to reduce the landing cost of petroleum products at retail outlets across the country.
“As an association, we are providing alternatives that will reduce the humongous charges on the distribution value-chain of the downstream oil sector.
“We are not here to fight other associations and unions, this insinuation is unfounded, petty, childish and unreasonable.
“We are partners in the project of making Nigeria’s economic better. We are not in any rivalry with anyone,” he said.
The BoT chairman commended the Federal Government for enacting the Petroleum Industry Act, saying that ADITOP was in full support of its implementation.
Earlier, Mr Ekpenyong Ayi, the Cross River Chairman of ADITOP, said that the association had come to stay in the country’s oil and gas industry.
“We represent the downtrodden; the drivers, tank farm owners and truck owners. We are here to do our part in support of the sector,” he said.
