Aliko Dangote varsity hails Kano governor’s transformative performance

Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) Wudil has commended Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State for his achievements in transforming education and other sectors in the state within one year in office.

Prof. Musa Yakasai, Vice Chancellor of the university, gave the commendation in an interview with the newsmen in Wudil on Wednesday.

Yakasai said that the unwavering support of the Yusuf-led administration, particularly ADUSTECH, a state-owned university, had revolutionised and catapulted the institution to new heights.

He noted that the institution had notexperienced such tremendous growth until the advent of Yusuf’s administration.

The vice chancellor highlighted some of the achievements through the government's support for the university, including the conversion of the former Daula Hotel land into a state-of-the-art ADUSTECH City Campus, the installation of fibre optics-based internet, and campus-wide internet access to enhance digital learning and research.

Others are the upgrade and installation of cutting-edge equipment at the central research laboratory to foster innovation and discovery, as well as the provision of financial support for the accreditation of 24 programmes.

He said that the management, through government support, had renovated and expanded facilities, including student hostels and administrative buildings, installed solar-powered streetlights, and provided subsidised transport services for the university community.

On the issue of welfare, the vice chancellor said that staff members were promoted and that their hazard allowance and other entitlements were being paid promptly in appreciation of their hard work and dedication to duty.

The VC, therefore, said that, given theachievements, the ADUSTECH community congratulated Gov. Yusuf on his first year in office and looked forward to the continuation of the success story.
