BREAKING: Vehicle transporting electoral material to Lagos crashes
It is not clear if the election materials were salvaged after the accident and what alternative arrangement was made to supply those expected to receive and deploy the materials in Lagos.
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) vehicle on election duty was involved in an accident Friday evening at the Giri Roundabout bridge, Abuja.
'The Officers were on their way to Lagos delivering election duty equipment, including NSCDC security,' said a tweet from the official feed of the Nigerian television Authority (NTA), which stated that the officers were en route to Lagos.
It is unclear whether the election materials were salvaged after the disaster and whether other arrangements were made to supply those in Lagos who were anticipated to receive and deploy the items.
Today, Nigerians are voting for a new President and a new set of national legislators.
Voting is set to begin at 8.30 a.m. and conclude at 2.30 p.m. today, February 25, 2023.
