Councillors of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area have reaffirmed support for the Chairman of the council area, Dr. Eric Odo.
The councillors, led by their leader, Mr. Emeka Okwu, expressed their support when they paid a courtesy visit to the chairman in his office on Tuesday.
Okwu said that the councillors would work closely with Odo to enable his administration to implement its infrastructure and economic development agenda.
“We, the 20 councillors of the 10th Assembly, wish to reaffirm our unwavering support for your leadership and pledge to continue fulfilling our duties diligently.
“We wish to draw your attention to the current state of the councillors’ offices, which are in urgent need of maintenance to enable us to effectively carry out our responsibilities as mandated by law.
“Moreso, we seek your approval to draft and submit a proposal for furnishing the Igbo-Etiti Legislative Building. We need your assistance in addressing this pressing issue," Okwu said.
Responding, Odo commended the councillors for their support since he assumed office.
Odo said he would look into their requests and give necessary approvals.
The council boss asked the legislators to produce a template that would guide the renovation of the legislative building.
He solicited their continued support and cooperation.
