Mr Joko Okupe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Modo Ante, the organisers of the summit, in collaboration with the Lagos State Government announced this in a statement made available on Friday in Lagos.
Okupe said the summit, initially scheduled for Sept. 25 and Sept. 26, will now take place from Oct. 22 to Oct. 23, at Eko Hotel and Towers in Lagos.
He explained that the date of the summit was changed to accommodate the participation of a wider range of stakeholders.
The chief executive added that it was also to ensure that the summit met its objectives of delivering cutting-edge solutions and unlocking new sources of revenue for the state.
According to him, the maiden edition of the summit will focus on five key sectors of the state’s economy, which includes, Property, Digital Economy, Informal Sector, Energy and Circular Economy.
Okupe said the ERPS will bring together leading experts, business executives, investors, policymakers and key players across multiple industries to discuss and explore innovative approaches to revenue generation.
“With Lagos being a hub for business and economic growth, the summit aims at presenting practical solutions for optimising revenue collection and ensuring better social amenities for citizens.
“The ERPS will also provide economic opportunities for businesses.
“Discussions will highlight how leveraging technology and innovative strategies can help generate more revenue for governments and investors, while promoting the state’s economic growth and development.
“For government officials, this summit is an opportunity to explore new strategies that can help close the budget deficit and increase state revenue.
“It will allow for greater investments in public infrastructure and social welfare programmes.
“For investors and business partners, the summit presents a platform to engage in meaningful discussions on revenue diversification, technology-driven protocols and potential investments in Lagos’ future economic landscape,” he said.
According to Okupe, the summit will offer a platform for innovators to pitch ideas that are capable of unlocking new revenue streams for the state.
Okupe said that, by leveraging technology and innovation, it could unlock ‘new money’ that would provide economic opportunities for Lagosians and more revenue for the government.
The Modo Ante boss said this would enhance the government’s ability to improve lives and livelihoods of Lagos residents on all fronts.
According to him, the headline sponsor Wema Bank, and co-sponsor, AlphaBeta remain committed to supporting the public-private sector collaboration summit for the state’s financial future.
Okupe noted that the sponsorship of the companies underscored the importance of creating sustainable partnerships to drive innovation in revenue generation for Lagos.
He said: “Participation in the summit will enhance visibility for the partners and sponsors, through extensive exposure to a diverse audience.
“These diverse audience include government officials, business leaders, investors and international media.
“It will also provide strategic networking opportunities to connect with key stakeholders and decision-makers to forge valuable partnerships.
“These stakeholders can explore new business opportunities that drive economic transformation and innovation in Lagos.
“Their participation offers a rare opportunity to connect and collaborate with the Lagos State Government and her agencies in a deeper alliance to work together to serve Lagos residents.
