Fuel Queues: Normalcy returning to FCT, stations getting supplies –Report
The NNPC Ltd. and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) had embarked on a joint monitoring of supply and distribution of fuel at stations in the FCT and across the country to ensure that queues disappear.
Normalcy in the dispensation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as fuel, is returning to the fuel stations in the FCT after a week of scarcity.
Supreme News reports that long fuel queues and scarcity were experienced in the FCT and some parts of the country, with attendant hardship for citizens.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) had said that the queues were a result of the disruption of ship-to-ship (STS) transfer of fuel between mother vessels and daughter vessels resulting from a recent thunderstorm.
It said adverse weather conditions, including rainstorms and lightning, had also affected berthing at jetties, truck load-outs, and the transportation of products to fuel stations, causing a disruption in station supply logistics.
