He said, Audu, a Corporate Finance and Investment Management expert, is no doubt the “best man” for the job, adding that the sector is in dire need of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Iko Udama Club, a socio-cultural group, has called on the Minister of Steel Development, Mr Shuaibu Audu, to kickstart the process of revamping the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
The group made the call in a congratulatory message by its Chairman, Mr Amodu Achema and Public Relations Officer, Mr Edime Abalaka, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Achema, while thanking President Bola Tinubu for the appointment, urged the minister to hit the ground running in view of how strategic the company is to solving unemployment in the country.
He said, Audu, a Corporate Finance and Investment Management expert, is no doubt the “best man” for the job, adding that the sector is in dire need of Foreign Direct Investment(FDI).
The chairman said “we are highly delighted on this well deserved appointment.
“It is an honour done to Igalaland and Kogi in general.
“Given the minister’s wealth of experience and international contacts, we believe that Nigeria’s moribund steel industries, particularly Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mills will be resuscitated.
“We know he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in this new job and that will impact positively on the Nigerian economy in areas of employment generation and wealth creation.”
He further said that, “we are proud of the credentials and wealth of experience the minister is bringing to this new assignment.
“We are confident he will do us proud and we pray that God will help him uphold the tenets of this high office.”
Achema said Iko Udama Club is identifying with the minister while wishing him success.
