I’ll introduce all-year-round farming in Dawakin LGA — NNPP chairmanship candidate
Danmaliki said his blueprint for agriculture development includes providing fertilisers and farming implements at the ward level to empower the local farmers.
Mr. Anas Danmaliki, the chairmanship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has pledged to introduce all-year-round farming in the area if elected.
The election is slated to hold on October 26.
Danmaliki told the newsmen in Dawakin Tofa on Friday that the initiative would boost food production and open more job opportunities for the teaming youths in the area.
He said with modern farming implements at subsidised rates to farmers, leveraging the area’s vast land, Dawakin could generate assorted farm produce for local and international markets.
He pledged to reverse the trend whereby residents of the area were migrating to urban centres in search of greener pastures by making farming a more lucrative and sustainable venture.
Danmaliki said his blueprint for agriculture development includes providing fertilisers and farming implements at the ward level to empower the local farmers.
He also promised to accord priority attention to education, healthcare, and agriculture.
Danmaliki said he already has a blueprint for the transformation of the area.
“We will renovate and equip rural health centres across the 11 wards with modern healthcare facilities to address the healthcare needs of our people,” he said.
The chairmanship candidate also pledged to retrain healthcare workers to meet the challenges of providing quality healthcare at the grassroots level.
“Healthcare centres and equipping healthcare personnel with advanced knowledge will be given priority to improve residents’ health,” he said.
He said that the local administration would upgrade the education sector by providing essential learning materials and eliminating the era of pupils receiving lessons under trees and on bare floors.
“We will also provide a platform where soft loans will be given to residents to boost their businesses in order to alleviate poverty.
