Jehovah’s Witnesses hold convention in 500 languages

In Nigeria, the convention is taking place at Ota, Ogun.

The 2024 Convention of the Jehovah’s Witnesses is being held in 500 languages in 240 countries.

In Nigeria, the convention is being done in Pidgin English, Yoruba Language, English Language, and American Sign Language across 48 locations.

Mr. Odeyemi Afolabi, regional spokesperson for the Jehovah’s Witnesses,made the disclosure in a statement in Lagos on Friday.

He said that the 15-week convention, with the theme “Declare the Good News,"  began on Friday.

According to the spokesperson, in Nigeria, the convention is taking place at Ota, Ogun.

He said that the convention to also focus on hope amid contemporary challenges would hold every weekend until Dec. 15.

Afolabi said that, in Nigeria,the convention would be held seven times in the English language, five times in Yoruba, two times in Pidgin English, and once in American Sign Language.

He said thatthe convention would take place almost every weekend, Friday to Sunday, until Dec. 15.

“The program will consist of presentations that will include talks, audio dramas, interviews, and short videos.

”The much-anticipated program is designed to comfort and encourage the public,” he said.

The spokesperson also saidthat there would be an all-volunteer production portraying Jesus Christ’s life and teachings, entitled “Jesus Christ Series Episode 1.”.

“The production has an 18-episode comprehensive look at the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, His personality, and interactions with people.

“It is released as a special feature of the 2024 convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Subsequent episodes will be released at future conventions.

“Jehovah’s Witnesses are found in over 240 lands and would be holding this convention in halls and stadiums in these territories.
