Just In: Akpabio Emerges Senate President of 10th National Assembly

Former Akwa Ibom State governor Akpabio received 63 ballots to defeat his opponent, Yari, who received 46 votes.

The senator-elect from Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, has emerged as the Senate President of the tenth National Assembly.

Senators Akpabio and Abdulaziz Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State, were nominated for the position of Senate President, according Supreme News.


Former Akwa Ibom State governor Akpabio received 63 ballots to defeat his opponent, Yari, who received 46 votes.

Supreme News recalls that Senator Akpabio is the endorsed candidate for the leadership of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
