Sen. Simon Lalong (APC-Plateau South) has commiserated with the immediate past Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, over the demise of her son, Richard Tallen.

Lalong condoled Tallen, who is also a former Deputy Governor of Plateau, when he visited the former minister at her residence in Abuja on Friday to share in her grief.

Lalong, a former Governor of Plateau, was accompanied by Rep. Ishaya Lalu (APC-Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency); Festus Fuanter, APC National Deputy Secretary; Pius Yenshi, ex-Plateau Liaison Officer, Abuja, among others.

He described Richard’s death as a big loss to the family, Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

Lalong extended the condolences of his family and the people of Plateau South to the Tallen family, saying his heart was with them in their difficult moment.

The former Minister of Labour and Productivity said that although the deceased’s demise was very painful, the family could not question God or reverse what had happened.

He added that there was nothing that the family could do than to accept the will of God in the circumstance.

Lalong, therefore, urged the Tallen family to continue to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased and uphold his legacies and achievements.

Responding, Tallen appreciated the senator and his entourage for the visit, as well as the words of encouragement.

The bereaved mother said that although the family was devastated, they had already fully submitted to the will of God.

She disclosed that the deceased’s burial arrangements had been concluded.

Tallen said it would begin with a service of songs and night of tribute in Abuja on Oct.12, and continue in Jos on Oct. 15, and Shendam on Oct. 16, before final interment.

Supreme News reports that the late Richard, the only son of the former minister, died in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 41.

He is survived by a wife, three children, sisters, and numerous others.
