He described the deceased as a dedicated, sincere and God fearing legislator, who contributed immensely to the development of the state while alive.
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has pledged to sponsor the education of the children of a former member representing Doma South Constituency at the state legislature to the university level.
Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House, announced this during a condolence visit to the family of the late Mr. James Dangana in Lafia.
Abdullahi led other members of the Seventh Assembly to commiserate with the bereaved family of their former colleague.
He described the deceased as a dedicated, sincere, and God-fearing legislator who contributed immensely to the development of the state while alive.
He regretted that the state would miss the services of Dangana.
“We are here to sympathize and condole with you on the death of our former colleague, the late Hon. James Dangana Akoza.
“Hon. Dangana was a dedicated and focused legislator. He has contributed positively to the development of the state.
“He was among the first lawmakers in the Fifth Assembly to support my Speakership ambition.
“We will miss his services, but God gives life and takes it at will,” the speaker said.
Abdullahi, however, urged the family, Doma South constituency, and the entire state to bear the irreparable loss andtake solace in God.
He prayed to God to forgive the late lawmaker's shortcomings and grant him eternal rest.
Responding on behalf of the family, Alhaji Muhammed Adih Ikushunta appreciated the speaker and the Seventh Assembly members for identifying with them at the trial moment and prayed to God to bless them.
Ikushunta added that the vacuum created by the demise of Dangana would be difficult to amend.
He also called for prayers and support for the deceased family.
