No active suspected cases of Cholera, Mpox in Edo – Official
On Sept. 5, Ojeifo announced an outbreak of Cholera in the state, with six suspected cases sent to Abuja for confirmation.
Dr Stephenson Ojeifo, Director of Public Health, Edo Ministry of Health, announced on Tuesday that there were no active suspected cases of Cholera or Mpox in the state.
Ojeifo confirmed this during an interview with the newsmen in Benin.
He said “for now, the tempo is low. There are no active suspected cases of Cholera or Mpox in the state.
“The only result we received from the National Reference Laboratory in Abuja last week was negative for Cholera.
“We have also received the remaining results for the suspected cases of Mpox in the state, and they were all negative.”
Supreme News recalls that on Sept. 5, Ojeifo announced an outbreak of Cholera in the state, with six suspected cases sent to Abuja for confirmation.
He said that while waiting for confirmation of the Cholera cases, the patients were treated.
He said the patients have since been discharged, with no further cases reported in their communities.
