Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue said on Sunday that his administration’s efforts in the education sector were already yielding positive and visible results.
Alia stated this when he received the GovTech Public Service Award, won by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) as the best SUBEB in ICT integration.
The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula said that his administration introduced several digital initiatives when he came on board.
He listed the initiatives to include the verification and implementation of a centralised and automated payroll system and a comprehensive audit of the staff of the board.
“Introduction of Computer-Based Tests (CBT) for teachers’ recruitment to ensure transparency and fairness in the process.
“This is no doubt contributing to President Bola Tinubu’s Digital Transformation Agenda in the Public Service.
“I assure the entire people of Benue that the positive results of the reforms initiated by our administration will be felt in all the sectors of the state,” he said.
Supreme News reports that Dr. Grace Adagba, Benue SUBEB Chairman, was equally honoured with the ‘Distinguished GovTech Trailblazers Award’ for exceptionally discharging her duties as the SUBEB boss.
