Society plays a great role in fighting insecurity, says Gov Radda

Radda attributed insecurity in the country to illiteracy, unemployment, poverty and other socioeconomic problems.

Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State Dikko says citizens have role to play in fighting insecurity across the country.

Grades said this at the opening ceremony of the News Agency of Nigeria’s (NAN) 1st Annual International Lecture, themed: “Insecurity in the Sahel (2008-2024): Dissecting Nigeria’s Challenges – Genesis, Impacts and Options.”

He said that the lecture came at vital time as Nigeria was faced with various issues bordering on insecurity.

The governor said that it was imperative for citizens to provide adequate information that will aid in the protection of the country.

“It is not about just applying the kinetic measures but the citizens and society need to provide adequate information to security agencies,” he said.

According to him, insecurity cannot be addressed without looking at its genesis, problems and possible solutions.

“I advise governors and the a Federal Government to address the root causes of insecurity in the country,” he said.

Radda attributed insecurity in the country to illiteracy, unemployment, poverty and other socioeconomic problems.

“All of this has to be put in place to address the issues of insecurity,” he said.

He further applauded the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in addressing the issues of insecurity in the country, adding that insecurity had reduced drastically
