Stop comparing yourself to fake social media friends, Cleric tells youth
“They borrow most of the things they use and upload it to impress you. They are never real and should not be celebrated,” he counseled.
Pastor Oluwasegun Solomon of Christ Triumph Church, Ilorin, has admonished youths to stop envying their friends on social media, as many of them are fake.
Solomon, who gave the advice in Ilorin on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said most social media posts are fake and not real.
According to him, most people live fake lives on social media and pushing most of their followers and friends into trouble.
“Work hard, be yourself and stop competing with anybody. They are fake people. They are not what they claim to be.
“If you continue to compete with them, they will land you in trouble. Just pursue your dreams and remain focus.
“They borrow most of the things they use and upload it to impress you. They are never real and should not be celebrated,” he counseled.
The cleric however called on parents to always teach their children how to be contented and live their normal life.
