Also, a total of 21 Insurgents and violent criminals were declared wanted in the southeast and North Central Area.

The Defence Headquarters has named 97 people wanted for various crimes in Nigeria.


Terrorists and rebels, among others, are wanted for their involvement in the country's violent acts.

The list includes Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafra agitator and Nnamdi Kanu Discliple, as well as Chika Edoziem, another IPOB commander.

Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, confirmed the identities and images of the people designated sought on Friday.

Unlike in November 2022, when the military declared no fewer than 19 bandit commanders wanted and offered a N5 million bounty to encourage Nigerians to provide information that could lead to their capture, no bounty was placed on the 97 people labelled wanted this time.

The names and images included terrorists from the Northeast and North West, as well as insurgents from the South East and North Central.


The following 43 individuals have been proclaimed wanted in the North West Zone due to banditry: Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, Halilu Sububu, Ado Aliero, Bello Turji, Dan Bokkolo, Labi Yadi, Nagala, Saidu Idris, Kachalla Rugga, and Sani Gurgu.

33 people have been proclaimed sought in the North East, where Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province militants have wreaked havoc.


Some of them are Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, Baba Data, Ahmad, Sani Teacher, Baa Sadiq, Abdul Saad, Kaka Abi, Mohammad Khalifa, Umar Tella, Abu Mutahid, Mallam Mohammad, Mallam Tahiru Baga, Uzaiya, and Ali Ngule.

A total of 21 insurgents and violent criminals have been declared wanted in the southeast and North Central Areas.


They include Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, Egede, Zuma, ThankGod, Gentle, Flavour, Mathew, David Ndubuisi, High Chief Williams Agbor, Ebuka Nwaka, Friday Ojimka, Obiemesi Chukwudi aka Dan Chuk, David Ezekwem Chidiebube, and Amobi Chinonso Okafor nicknamed Temple, among others.
