The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has restated commitment to professionalism and result oriented approach to protect lives and property in the country.

The new Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, stated this during a handing-over ceremony, on Friday in Bauchi.

Aliyu, who assumed duty as the 46th Commissioner of Police in the state, said the police would remained professional and dedicated towards ensuring security and public safety.

He succeeded Auwal Muhammad, who was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), and reassigned to Zone 3, Yola.

Untill his appointment, Aliyu was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Gombe State Command.

Born on Feb. 13, 1969 in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi, Aliyu is a veteran law enforcement officer with over 30 years of service in the NPF.

He was enlisted as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on June 10, 1994, and holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts.
