Gumi said that the community police constabulary had diligently performed their duties and should be considered for recruitment into the Nigeria police force during recruitment.

The House of Representatives has urged the Police Service Commission, and the Inspector General (I-G) of Police to consider integrating members of the community policing constabulary volunteer scheme into the force.

The house also urged the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) to consider such volunteers who had diligently performed their duties for recruitment into its service.

The resolution followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Sulaiman Gumi (PDP-Zamfara) during plenary in Abuja on Wednesday.

Gumi said that the community police constabulary had diligently performed their duties and should be considered for recruitment into the Nigeria police force during recruitment.

He said experience remained a vital aspect in police and civil defense corps recruitments, adding that considering employing members of the community policing constabulary scheme would help the country.

He added that the volunteers had demonstrated commendable performances during their recruitment

exercises into the scheme.

Adopting the motion, the house urged the Minister of Interior and the NSCDC Commandant to strongly consider NSCDC volunteers, who had diligently performed their duties for recruitment.

The house mandated the Committees on Police Affairs and Interior to ensure compliance.
