According to him, when he assumed duty as the V-C, there were only three faculties with 20 programmes, and out of them, only three had accreditation.

He added that now the university has 13 faculties with more than 100 accredited programmes, saying “it’s a great achievement in three years.”

According to Hamisu-Bichi, within the period he has been the vice chancellor, a lot of structures were built, especially the faculties of medicine, engineering, law, and natural resources.

“We are now in the process of constructing a faculty of education, a faculty of arts, and also a faculty of environment.

“And for the first time in the history of the university, we used international revenue to build three female hostels,” he added.

Hamisu-Bichi also disclosed that, in spite of the successes recorded during his leadership, there were still some challenges, especially the lack of funds.

He also lamented that insecurity in the area was part of the challenges he has been facing, saying, ”We are doing everything possible to ensure a safer environment.”
