The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, said on Friday that the university would do its best to make its newly-established Faculty of Pharmacy enviable.
Olatunji-Bello gave the assurance during a visit to the university by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria Advisory Team.
She said that observations by the council would be looked into in order to improve outcomes.
“On structure, for now, the faculty will be using a building in the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), but there is a plan to erect a three- or four-story building with state-of-the-art facilities for the faculty.
“The course has more than enough candidates who applied,” Olatunji-Bello said.
She applauded the provost of LASUCOM for the support given to the new faculty and thanked the advisory team for the visit.
Prof. Abiodun Ogundaini, who led the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria Advisory Team, advised LASU management to provide befitting structures for the new faculty and conduct staff training.
Ogundaini praised LASU for its projects.
Other principal officers at the meeting include Prof. Funsho Omobitan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and Prof. Adenike Boyo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).
