He listed the awardees as Mfonmma-Abasi Bassey, who received the top award in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) category for Art and Design and Daniel Anohu was awarded top in the Environmental Management IGCSE category.

The Regent Secondary School, Abuja, announced that four of its 2022 graduates had been recognised during the 2023 Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony.

The Registrar of the school, Mr. Oghenekevwe Ominigho, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

Ominigho said that the students achieved outstanding results in the Cambridge June 2022 Examination Series and were accordingly awarded at the 2023 Cambridge Learner Awards.

He said that the award was organised annually by the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE).

He said the award ceremony, which took place on July 6 at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, in Victoria Island, Lagos State, celebrated the candidates from Nigeria who excelled in the June 2022 and November 2022 Cambridge examination series in Nigeria and worldwide.

He listed the awardees as Mfonmma-Abasi Bassey, who received the top award in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) category for Art and Design, and Daniel Anohu, who was awarded the top award in the Environmental Management IGCSE category.

He also listed Khalidah Fatume Usman as

top in the History IGCSE category, and Sufiya Mohammed-Iqbal received the high achievement award in the Cambridge International Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level category.

”The Regent Secondary School congratulates these outstanding students on their incredible achievements. These awards are a testament to their unwavering dedication, hard work, and desire to excel.

”The school has consistently turned out top Nigerian awardees in many International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Advanced Subsidiary (AS), and Advanced Level subjects without missing out since 2016.

”Some of the other awards received by The Regent Secondary School in the course of the years were Overall Best Across Eight Subjects in Nigeria, Overall Best Across 4 AS Subjects, Overall Best Across 3 A Level Subjects, and Best in the World Awards,” he said.

The registrar commended the school management for playing its role in supporting the students in their academic journey.

He pledged the continued commitment of the school to providing quality education to produce well-rounded leaders who excel both academically and beyond.

”The school acknowledges the initiatives of the British Council for creating a platform for recognising achievements and encouraging the upcoming learners to excel in whatever they do,” he said.
