The vice-chancellor identified physical assault, including sexual abuse, drug abuse, and cultism, among others, as serious offenses against the management of the institution.

Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, the Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun, says the institution has zero tolerance for gross misconduct among students.

Ojediran made this known while speaking on Wednesday in Ota, Ogun.

The vice-chancellor identified physical assault to include sexual abuse, drug abuse, cultism, among others as serious offences to the management of the institution.

Ojediran said that such offenses attracted automatic dismissal from the school, adding that such punishment was meant to serve as a deterrent to other students.

”Any of our students for whom the institution discovers that he or she possesses low morale will be dismissed from the school,” he said.

This, he said, was part of the measures put in place by the management of the university to ensure discipline and instill morality in the students, as well as reduce decadence in the country.

The vice chancellor appealed to parents to create time to monitor their children at home and also find out what they are doing in school.

“The parents these days are not as hard as the parents in those days, and this is contributing to moral decadence in the country.
