Tonye Omoni, Sokari West win Mr. and Miss Teen Rivers Beauty Pageant
Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital, turned agog on Saturday, September 2, 2023, for the second edition of "Mr. and Miss Teen Rivers Beauty Pageant," tagged "DAMASK EDITION."
The Mr. & Miss Teen Rivers Pageant was proudly organised by one of Port Harcourt's pageant organisers, Tracy Gold Global Venture (which is also the organiser of the Duke and the most beautiful girl in the Kalabari Cultural Pageant).
Tracy Asikiye West, CEO, Trancy Gold Global Vision, the organiser, held the event at the prestigious Dome Event Centre off Peter Odili Road in the heart of Garden City.
The event began with some up-and-coming artists having the privilege of showing off their talent to the audience. The real business of the night started with the first outing of the contestants—nine females and ten males—who made it to the camp.
Two experienced judges, Mr. Sam Chikweri, a catwalk instructor and head of the pageantry department of the Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and popular pageant promoter Mr. Emmer Schneider, the CEO of Scheneider Institute of Foreign Languages, were the selected judges for the event.
The event also featured the presentation of awards by the organiser to notable individuals who have supported the pageant industry over the years. Thereafter, the contestants took over the stage one last time for the judges to see their attire clearly.
At the end of the keenly contested competition, 14-year-old Master Richard Tonye Omoni of Brilliant International Group of Schools emerged as Mr. Teen Rivers, while 16-year-old Miss Sokari West emerged as Miss Teen Rivers 2023.
Both winners, in their different speeches, promised to uphold the vision of Trachygold Global Vision and also to join in the fight against child slavery and all forms of child abuse in the state.
