Indonesia's airports offer free-visa entry for G20 delegations, journalists

Indonesia on Tuesday announced its free entry visa for foreign delegates and journalists going to Indonesia to attend the G20 summit.

The Soekarno-Hatta airport immigration office said those attending the summit can enter the country with a free visa via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.

According to the authorities, the foreign delegates and journalists will only need to present the required documents, including passports, return or one-way tickets, and proofs of registration or invitation letters, to attend the summit scheduled to take place on the Bali resort island from Nov. 15 to Nov. 16.

Muhammad Tito Andrianto, head of the airport immigration office, said in a written statement that "the free-visa entry policy is valid up to Nov. 18 and is expected to make it easier for the G20 participants to enter Indonesia."

"Our main goal is to make the participants comfortable and safe with our immigration services."

According to Andrianto, at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, there are four arrival gates that are open only for the G20 participants and serve as the free-visa entry.
