The Galaxy Backbone (GBB) has partnered Interra Networks, a Network Communications and Services Company, to train 20 staff members of state Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies on digital services in South East.

A statement signed by the Head Media and Marketing, Mr Chidi Okpala, on Wednesday in Abuja said it was part of its expansion plans to provide services leveraging its fibre roll out across the country.

Okpala said that the training took place in Enugu, where GBB had a Disaster Recovery Data centre that supports its Uptime certified Tier III Datacentre.
He said that the one-day training was to help equip staff members of Interra Networks on the GBB Digital Services that were specific to public sector companies and to Small and Medium Enterprises.

He explained that capacity building was a core aspect of GBB’s evolution as an organisation providing digital services across the country in line with the directive of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
“This training with Interra will cover High Speed Fibre Connectivity Services, Metropolitan and wide Area Networks, email, Hosting and unified communication services, customer support and incident management.

“GBB is committed to ensuring that its channel partners are fully equipped with the technical and services support and knowledge that will enable them to perform at optimum levels.
“With this fibre connectivity in two geopolitical zones in Nigeria, GBB is deepening broadband penetration across the country and widening the digital transformation drive of the federal government.

“GBB will continue to deepen its partnerships with local ICT companies across the country in ensuring that more organisations at the state and local levels benefit from this fibre roll out,” he said.
