Nasarawa Government. pledges seamless information flow to journalists

The Nasarawa State Government has assured journalists in the state of a seamless flow of information from all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure proper and balanced reportage.
Mr Labaran Magaji, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), gave the assurance while playing host to members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Wednesday in Lafia.
Magaji said that seamless information flow between government and the media would enable members of the public to be well-informed about the activities and developments in the state.
He said the journalists needed to publish correct information to counter the misinformation and fake news being paddled by quacks in the state.
The SSG described journalists as critical stakeholders who had contributed immensely to the peace and development of the state.
He said there was the need to provide them with an enabling environment to function smoothly.
Magaji said that the Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s-led administration had executed many legacy projects and programmes in different sectors of the state, to improve the well-being of people of the state.
He listed some of the projects to include construction of the state secretariat, flyovers and underpasses in Lafia, Akwanga, bus terminals in Lafia and Karu, and network of roads in the capital and local government areas (LGAs).
He added that the government has given employment to a number of youths and ensured regular promotion of civil servants and permanent employment to many casual workers.
Magaji commended the journalists for their objectivity and professionalism in reporting the state since the inception of the Sule administration and appealed for its sustainability.
Earlier, Ukpoju said the visit was to congratulate the SSG on his appointment.
He enjoined him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the running of the state.
