A Grade I Area Court in Kubwa on Thursday, refered a case of alleged criminal conspiracy and theft filed against a businessman, Sanusi Mohammed to the police for investigation.

The judge Ibrahim Rufai, gave the order pursuant to the provisions of Section 89 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA).

The direct criminal complaint instituted by the complainant, Barrister George Presley was refered to the Kubwa Police Station.

Earlier, Presley told the court that he sent his daughter with one Infinix Hot 8 phone and one Techno Spark 7 phone to charge at the defendant’s commercial phone charging shop on July 7.

He said he also sent two rechargeable lambs which his daughter handed over to the defendant’s shop keeper and a tag number for proper identification and collection of the items were given to her.

” Hours later, my daughter went to the said shop to collect the four items with the tag number given to her but was told that someone had earlier collected the cellphones.

” I rushed to the defendant’s shop and was told same so I reported the matter at the Byazhin Police Station and the Nigerian Police from Kubwa Station took over the matter,” Presley said

He added that the defendant whom initially had travelled to Kano, appeared and bought a substandard version of one of the stolen cellphones, pleading for him to accept it.

The complainant however accepted it but discovered he was allegedly tricked by the defendant whom conspired and sold his phones to replace with a smaller sum.

He however urged the court to issue a criminal summon against the defendant for the said offences.

The defendant , however denied the allegations against him, saying that he travelled to Kano for Sallah and returned to hear what happened through his store keeper.
