She said she gave her younger brother, Ayomide Samuel, who was working in the said salon five wigs to wash for her.

A 40-year-old business woman, Ibironke Shittu, on Wednesday, told an Upper Area Court, Kubwa, how a Salon Manager, Danjuma Happy and her boss, Udi Oluwafunke, seized her two human hair wigs, worth N700,000.

The police charged Happy, manager of Rutega Salon, Kubwa, with criminal conspiracy and theft, to which she pleaded not guilty.

Supreme News reports that Oluwafunke was not arraigned as she is at large.

Shittu made the allegation while being led in evidence by the Prosecution Counsel, Babajide Olanipekun.

She said she gave her younger brother, Ayomide Samuel, who was working in the said salon five wigs to wash for her.

“My brother travelled for our sister’s wedding in June. While he was away, he directed another staff member of the salon to pick a customer’s wig from his house for delivery.

“The staffer picked my five wigs and when my brother returned from his trip, he tried collecting the wigs back from his boss, Oluwafunke, but she refused to release them.

“I approached her personally for the wigs and she said she wanted to deal with my brother for making her record a setback in her salon business while he was away.

“She eventually told me she dropped the wigs at Phase 4 police station and asked me to go and pick them up. I asked her if my brother stole from her and she said ‘No’,” Shittu said.

The complainant said she decided to make enquiry at the police station but that she was told that there were no wigs in their possession.

She added that she made an official report of her missing wigs to Kubwa police station and that Oluwafunke said the wigs were with her manager, that is, the defendant.

“Thereafter, the defendant brought three wigs to the police station instead of five. The value of the two missing wigs was N700,000 then but the defendant ‘s boss is now at large,” she said.

The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, however, adjourned the matter till Jan. 24 for hearing.
