Fuel scarcity: Kano's queues progressively disappearing
Fuel scarcity that had lingered for months in Kano, is gradually disappearing and also easing off.
Supreme reports that the queues in most filling stations in the metropolis had relatively reduced.
Supreme also reports that many petrol stations in the metropolis, have opened for normal business as supply has increased with the price remaining at N210 per liter or less.
Some fuel stations were not opened and were not selling the product to motorists.
A motorist, Malam Bala Ado, said he had been on the queue at the Aliko filling station for about 15 minutes but was yet to buy the product.
“I’m happy that the situation is gradually easing off and getting better compared to last week,” he said.
He said that the filling station dispensed fuel at N210 per liter.
Ado urged the government to address the situation, especially among the oil marketers and end the difficulties faced by motorists.
Another motorist, Baba Ali, commended the government for its efforts aimed at arresting the situation.
Alhaji Sani Musa, a motorist said, he only spent 15 minutes before refilling his tank at AA Rano fuel station at the official pump price.
Mr George Olawole, also commended the efforts made so far by the relevant government agencies to see to the end of scarcity of the product.
He appealed to the authourities to address the situation where marketers sell the product above the regulated pump price.
One of the petrol stations attendant said that most motorists no longer fill their tanks because of the high pump price.
He said that majority of the people who patronised their fuel station only buy between N3, 000 and N5,000 worth of the product.
Supreme also reports that activities of petrol hawkers in the metropolis have begun to diminish, as supply and availability of the product has improved.
