Deeper Life Church shares food, cash to the less privileged

The Taraba branch of Deeper Life Bible Church distributed food items and cash to the less privileged in the state on Sunday to cushion the effects of the economic hardship on them.

Pastor Samuel Omajali, the state director of the church, while answering questions from newsmen at the end of the combined service to thank God over the just concluded global crusade held by the general overseer of the church, Pastor William Kumuyi in Wukari, expressed worry over the difficult situation citizens were going through.

“As we all know, prices of food items and other commodities have been on the rise, and there is no money for people to eat their three square meals.

"Therefore, as a church, we can’t sit in our comfort zone and watch those in need suffer; that is why we chose to put our resources together to improve lives,” he said.

Omajail noted that the high cost of living has made life unbearable for the poor, adding that the government must urgently take measures to stem the tide.

According to him, the distribution of cash and food items will go to widows and orphans, respectively.

Omajali, who said that God used Pastor Kumuye to heal many during the Wukari global crusade, hinted that millions of people testified over the wonders of God in their lives.

He urged other members of the church, who were more privileged, to also extend a similar gesture to some congregants and those in need around them.
