But the West Africans showed class on the day to beat the four-time Kwibuka champions.

In the first innings of the game, Queentor Abel’s 51 runs in 55 balls helped the Kenyans race to a decent score of 95/4 in 20 overs.

Nigeria responded quickly, needing only 16.4 overs to see off Kenya, scoring 98/7 to beat their rivals by three wickets.

In the game against Botswana, Nigeria also needed 16.2 overs to score 98/4 after Botswana had set the target of 97/6 in 20 overs.

The Nigerian team went on to win by six wickets.
