” I call on my opposition and fellow volleyballers, to let us come together and join hands to develop the sport. I am not seeing myself as the president of volleyball association, but as the servant of the association,” he said.

The former president of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, on Thursday, secured a second term as the president of the Federation, after polling 11 votes out of 14 registered voters.

In his post-election speech, Nimrod said : "we started by the grace of God, we are going to move forward more than where we are.

" I call on my opposition and fellow volleyballers, to let us come together and join hands to develop the sport. I am not seeing myself as the president of volleyball association, but as the servant of the association," he said.

According to him, what mattered to him was the development of volleyball in Nigeria.

"I want to thank and appreciate everyone, the journey has just started. We couldn't go to Tokyo 2020 but come Paris, we will be there by the grace of God.

" I know we have a big task, let's come together and move volley ball to a higher level. We do not hold grudges, malice or bias against anybody, let us work together as a team," he added.

Nimrod told Journalists after the election, held at the National Moshood Abiola sports stadium, Abuja, that he was thankful to God for his re-election as the president of the Federation for the second time.

"l thank God that we have really achieved a lot and Nigerians can bear witness. Now, I am assuring you, we will do more than before.

"Our desire is to go to Paris Olympic games in 2024, which is our target and also the Commonwealth," he said

He said the door of Volleyball was open to sponsors and companies, adding, "We have a big challenge of marketing our sponsorship, but we cannot continue like that. We need a lot of companies to come and assist us, our doors are open,"

"We have the product, which is volleyball, but the issue is marketing our sponsorship," he said

Supreme reports that Nimrod's opponent, Alhassan Yakmut scored zero votes, as Ebenezer Morakinyo, also emerged winner with 11 votes out 14 voters, for the post of vice-president.
