Group tasks Tinubu on rehabilitation of eastern railway lines

A group, the Njiko Igbo Forum, has tasked President Bola Tinubu with completing the rehabilitation of the abandoned railway lines from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri.

The president of the group, Rev. Okechukwu Obioha, made the call in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Enugu.

Obioha said repairing the railway line would allow the people of the zone to enjoy railway transportation like their counterparts in other zones of the country, who had been making use of trains for more than 20 years.

He decried that no single traffic or movement was noticed or experienced along the Eastern Corridors, which he described as abysmal and discriminatory.
