Housewife seeks dissolution of 24-year-old “loveless” marriage

A housewife, Halimat Nasiru, on Thursday approached an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja seeking the dissolution of her 24-year-old marriage on grounds that she no longer loves her husband, Musa.

Nasiru told the court that she married Musa, according to Islamic laws in April 2020.

The mother of five, said that her husband no longer handles responsibilities.

“I no longer love him and do not want to be his wife. I pray the court to grant my prayer for divorce,” she said.

Musa, begged the court to give him sometime to address the problems with his wife.

” I still love my wife. We have five children togther and i do not want a divorce,” he said.

The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, adjourned the matter until Sept. 23 for report of settlement.
