I 'll prioritise youth participation in governance - Bayelsa LP guber candidate
Engr. Udengs Eradiri, the Bayelsa Nov. 11 governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has promised to make youth participation in governance paramount.
He stated this in his manifesto: Not less than 50% of political appointees will be men and women of 45 years of age or younger.
Eradiri, who stated that some of the potential and endowment of Bayelsa reveal leadership as a problem for the state.
Bayelsa State needs purposeful, result-oriented, ingenious, people-oriented, honest, updated, bold, and courageous leadership, he said.
The LP candidate said that he was compelled to join the governorship race to be the vessel of deliverance for Bayelsa State.
Eradiri, a former state Commissioner for youth and Environment, said their government will build and equip more health centers across the state in addition to the limited present 28 centers.
He stated that emphasis will be placed on skill acquisition, ICT and other technical vocations, and human capacity development in the area of education.
On the area of Agriculture, Engr. Eradiri added that the state will produce what it consume and no longer depend solely on the food and farm produce that comes from neighboring states.
We shall take advantage of the enormous availability of gas resources, water resources, and renewables to provide a clean, safe, and uninterrupted power supply, he added.
