Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming Edo governorship election, visited his hometown, Ewhohimi, in the Esan South East local government area, to garner support from his community.

Ighodalo, during his visit on Wednesday, hosted elders and party leaders from Ewhohimi, Ewhossa, and Ewatto at his country home in Okaigben Quarters.

He thanked his people for their support, predicting Ewhohimi would give him 100 percent of their votes.

He assured the community that his governorship would bring unprecedented development to Ewhohimi and the state.

Ighodalo visited the palace of the Onojie of Ewatto Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Osagie Ikhumwen 1, who offered his royal blessing and predicted victory.

Ighodalo, accompanied by his wife and officials, also met with women groups and widows in Ubiaja, promising special packages for these groups upon election.

Mr. Peter Aguele, the immediate past chairman of the council, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude for the party’s unity and overwhelming support.

Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross River State, urged the crowd to ensure Ighodalo’s victory, highlighting the benefits of having a governor from their community.

Notable attendees included Prince Lewis Osobase, a stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former House of Representatives member.

Others are Kalu Adaze, Edo State’s Commissioner for Finance, and Chief Dr. Aghughu Adolphus, formerly Auditor-General of the Federation.

These leaders lent their support to further reinforce Ighodalo’s candidature.
