The Management of Kaduna State Community and Social Development Agency (KADCSDA) says 207,801 indigent persons have benefited from differrent intervention schemes in the state from April to Aug.

Mr Muhammed Mukadas, General Manager of KADCSDA disclosed this on Wednesday during presentation of the agency’s Compendium Report and Pictorial Achievements for 2024 in Kaduna.

Mukadas said the figures of the beneficiaries included; 90, 823 in Education, 12, 498 in Health, 92, 804 in Water Sanitation and Health (WASH) sectors.

Others included; 5, 229 in Gender and Vulnerable Groups, 5,229 in Labour Intensive Public Workers (LIPW) and 1, 335 in Livelihood support.

He said: “KADCSDA is one of the delivery platforms saddled with the responsibility of implementing the Kaduna State Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Program (KAD-CARES) also known as “Uba Sani CARES”.

“Today, we are excited to share the remarkable achievements of our programme, ‘Uba Sani CARES’ which has made significant strides in various communities of Kaduna State in the year 2024.

“Uba Sani CARES aims to expand access to livelihood support and provision of grants to poor and vulnerable communities in the state.

“Out team has worked tirelessly to achieve outstanding results in the area of Education, Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Labour Initiative Public Workfare and Livelihood support exceeding expectations”.

Mukadas further disclosed that the agency implemented 177 micro-projects within April and Aug. 2024 across 177 communities of the 23 Local Government Areas.

“We scaled the implementation by 15 micro-projects in 15 communities in Nov. 2024,” he said.

Other achievements according to the GM, include; renovations of 77 blocks of classrooms in 77 communities with a total of 90,823 pupils benefiting from the schools, 13 health care centers across 13 communities, equipped for 12,498 persons.

Also, 92,804 community members benefited from 81 motorised boreholes constructed in 81 communities, 5,229 gender and vulnerable groups were provided with mobility aids and skill acquisition tools to enhance their livelihood.

Mukadas said 5,112 beneficiaries were engaged for Labour Intensive Public Workfare (LIPW), 1,335 youths and women were granted support to improve their livelihood.

“This intervention provides soft skill training and one-off payments to economically active and self-employed youths and women.

“These achievements demonstrates KADCSDA’s dedication to excellence and we are grateful to His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani for his unflinching support to the agency,” he said.
