Netcore Cloud, one of world’s leading omni-channel marketing technology platforms, has unveiled a new report that exposes various factors that affected how Nigerians reacted to and read their emails from various brands in 2022.

The report was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.

Supreme News reports that the report was titled: “Enhancing Customer Engagement Through Email: A Focus on Nigerian Banks & Fintechs.”

The report listed the key metrics to include open rates, click rates and engagement rates.

The report said that email click rates were on the decline when compared to previous years, noting that various brands need to provide more value in their content to encourage conversions.

The report said the best days that emails performed best was on Tuesday.

It disclosed that cross promotion emails sent on Tuesday performed best with a click rate of 0.28 per cent.

“Customer information emails on Tuesday and Saturday, General information email on Monday, lifestyle emails on Sunday with maximum clicks on Monday and Tuesday.

“Product information performed best on Tuesday and Saturday but had maximum clicks on Tuesday, product marketing on Thursday and Friday with maximum clicks on Tuesday.

“Regulatory information had maximum performance on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, security tips had maximum opens on Tuesday with maximum clicks on Friday while special offer emails had maximum opens on Tuesday and maximum clicks on Tuesday,” it said.

The report added that emails that were relevant to customer segments attract higher click rates while the one specific to products had higher engagement rates.

It further urged email marketers to avoid sending emails in the middle of the night or early hours of the day (from 12.00 a.m. to 5.00 a.m) and sending out important information on Sundays except it was sensitive.

The report said the best time to send an email was from the hours of 8.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.
