NSCDC advises residents against employing impostors as security guards
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara Command, has advised residents in the state to be conscious of who they employ as security guards.
The NSCDC Commandant in Zamfara, Mr Sani Mustapha, gave the advice at the training of personnel of 50 Private Guard Companies in Gusau on Wednesday.
Mustapha said that the advice was necessary to prevent unwary property owners from unknowingly employing bandits and their informants as security guards
He urged residents to approach Private Guard Companies for their security services to avoid falling victims to impostors and unscrupulous elements.
The commandant said that professional and registered security guards collaborate with statutory law enforcement agencies to provide security in the state.
“The services offered by the PGCs are constitutionally recognised, and they work within the rules of engagement and can easily be located when the need arises,’’ he said.
Mustapha explained that the aim of the training of the personnel was to impart them with techniques of intelligence gathering and how to communicate it to security agencies for prompt action.
`The fruitful outcome of the training is needed especially in Zamfara that has been bedevilled by numerous security challenges,’’ he said.
