A 30 year-old female carpenter, Fatima Muhammad, has called on women to follow their dreams of becoming self reliant with hard work and perseverance.

Muhammad, in an interview with the newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday, said that women could achieve their dreams with discipline and fear of God.

According to him, women have a higher chance of attaining financial independence through regular savings and still keep happy and healthy marital homes by ensuring regular support to their husbands.

“Most women are facing some challenges today, one of which is being suppressed by their husbands due to lack of understanding and clear communication in marriage.

“This may result in lack of financial support from the husbands, but if a woman is financially stable, at least, half of the problems in marriage will be solved due to the kind-heartedness of most women.

“They can assist their spouses without any problem due to the love they have for them and for the well-being of their children,” she said.

Muhammad, who said that she had done a kitchenware business before she ventured into furniture business in 2017, said that she had employed more than 15 youths.

The business woman stated that some of the furniture she had made included: royal chairs, sofas, beds, doors and interior designs, among others.

The business woman listed some of the challenges being faced as a furniture producer as theft at her workshop and insecurity, especially when travelling to other states to do her job.

Married with two children, the entrepreneur said that she made sure she had time for her family, notwithstanding the hectic nature of her chosen line of business.

“My children attend same school with my siblings and my workshop is close to my family house.

“This which gives me the chance to drop them in school in the morning after which I go to my workshop and then come back to my family house by 6:00 p.m. to pick them up.

“When it comes to cooking, I select weekends during which I cook four different soups which I refrigerate, to serve us for a whole week,” she said.
