- Tribute: Uranta’s...
Mrs. Baarong Tony-Uranta, widow of human rights activist Tony Uranta, has described her late husband as a warrior whose memory is unforgettable.
Baarong, in a tribute on Sunday in Lagos, said the deceased’s passing had left a void that could never be filled.
Supreme News recalls that Uranta, 67, died on Nov. 24, 2021, at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
According to his widow, Uranta’s legacies, however, live on through the many lives he touched.
“It feels like yesterday when you bade us farewell. The memories we shared still linger.
“Your laughter, wisdom, compassion, and love for your family and country were second to none.
“Although we miss you deeply, we choose to celebrate you today, knowing you lived a great life impacting several cadres of people.
“Now you are rejoicing with the angels in heaven; this is our consolation,” she said.
Baarong recalled the special names he had for their children. saying, "You were a super dad, and the house is so quiet. Your booming voice and deep laughter are no more.
“Alas, life must go on, even as the pain lingers on. We just have to move on with our lives but will never forget you. Your memory will never be forgotten.”
